Our focus at the White House Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) is to provide pastoral support to develop their social, emotional and/or mental health needs in order to reintegrate back into their mainstream school. Our pupils benefit from personalised pastoral support in their classroom, through interventions & multi-agency working. We work very closely with mainstream schools to promote the pupil's reintegration, once they are ready.
Our key pastoral support focus is about identifying the pupil's needs, often pulling together a wide array of information, views and observations to identify a bespoke 360 plan for the child moving forward. On this plan, we include information received from mainstream.
Our pupils have access to a number of key intervention and class staff to support their needs. We create a comprehensive profile of the child along with coping strategies & safety mechanisms which are worked through and passed over to the mainstream school upon transitions.
Our specialist staff work closely with pupils to help them identify and to best manage their emotions. Classes work on team work and social skills throughout a personalised & structured day at White House and this is embedded across all areas of our curriculum and boosted by our Jigsaw PSHE programme.
Parents/carers are welcomed to come to our Cafe Venn - ran by some of our pupils and is open at our school from 9:30-11am on Fridays.
