The Sullivan Centre Hospital Education Service is a referral led Pupil Referral Unit that supports young people who are deemed medically unfit and unable to attend school. Formal admission requests to the Sullivan Centre Hospital Education Service must be supported by a medical professional and can be made via the following referral pathways:

  • schools (in addition to a supporting letter by a medical professional e.g. Consultant paediatrician or CAMHs clinical nurse/psychologist).
  • directly from a Consultant or CAMHs
  • through coordination from the Hospital Education Service (Offsite Provision)
  • the Local Authority Fair Access Panel

Admission to the Sullivan Centre is primarily for pupils with CAMHS involvement or for pupils who are awaiting intervention from CAMHS.

Once a request for admission has been accepted, contact will be made with parents/carers, home schools and any relevant professionals to make the necessary arrangements regarding admission.
