Our annual residential took place at the Old School House in Robin Hood's Bay. The Old School House is an ideal location to explore not only Robin Hood's Bay but also the adjacent National Park and some of the best attractions in North Yorkshire. It takes less than 5 minutes to walk to the beach and village centre.
We arrived at the Old School House on Wednesday 1st March and stayed until Friday 3rd March. During our stay we explored the rocky coastline which has a large tidal range and provides a safe environment for rock pooling. The beach is also renowned on the east coast for fossil hunting with ammonites regularly unearthed in the sand and shingle.
We researched the history of this unique village where many of the cottages date from the 16th Century making it an ideal venue for our students to compare and contrast RHB with their own locality. The residential concluded with a memorable 'Ghost Walk'.
